Box Score SILVER CITY, N.M. – The Western New Mexico University women's basketball ran into a tough Colorado Christian University squad Saturday night with the Cougars defeating the Lady Mustangs, 92-63, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action inside Drag's Court.

Colorado Christian University (CCU) opened up a five-point lead, 7-2, a little over two minutes in, but Western New Mexico University (WNMU) had an answer.

Morgan Wohltman (Queen Creek, AZ/Highland High School) helped turn things for WNMU (1-5, 0-2 RMAC) with a pair of free throws, which Heather Hamilton (Ely, NV/White Pine High School) added to that a pair of her own. WNMU took the lead off a steal by Wohltman and she then concluded the trip with a jumper in the paint for the 8-7 WNMU lead a little over five minutes in.

The lead would reach two a few minutes later following a three-point-play the hard way by Kassie Scott (El Paso, TX/Coronado High School) for the 11-9 lead at the 12:35 mark.

CCU (4-2, 1-1 RMAC) would come back with a 13-0 run to open a 25-13 lead at the 6:34 mark.

The Cougars would hold that lead and add two more before halftime to take a 39-25 lead.

Scott, Wohltman and Hamilton all opened the second half with baskets for the Lady Mustangs to keep the game within 14 with 16 minutes to play before CCU would tally a 12-0 run midway through the half to push the lead to 31 on their way to the victory.

Scott posted 21 points to lead the way for WNMU, going 7-for-11 from the field. Hamilton added 16 points, while Wohltman tallied 12.
