Playing in their seventh game in 12 days, the Mustangs are ready for a rest especially after Saturday's game at Fort Lewis. The Skyhawks blazed past WNMU, 103-61.
WNMU shot .323 from the floor while their opponents had a .545 performance, the third best showing by a Mustang opponent this season. Fort Lewis also had a huge advantage in fast break points (26-0) and points in the paint (40-16).
WNMU never led in the contest and were forced to face a 32-point deficit at half (61-29). The lead swelled to 44 in the second half with no WNMU recovery in sight.
WNMU scoring was evenly dispersed with
TJ Riley (Tyler, TX, Chapel Hill High School, Lamar University) and
Andy Sohlich (Battle Creek, MI, St. Phillip Catholic Central High School, Western Texas Community College; Eldon Academy Prep) each having 10 points. Three others had eight points.
Fort Lewis had six people in double figures. David Kanyinda led all scorers with 16 points.
The Mustangs are now even in conference play (5-5) and 5-12 overall. Fort Lewis has only two losses on the season (11-2, 7-2 RMAC).
