The WNMU volleyball team had little problem in their first of three matches on the road this weekend. They swept Chadron State Thursday night, 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-15). The Mustangs are now 3-3 overall and 1-0 in RMAC play.
A new name to the WNMU roster saw big numbers in the victory.
Kassie Kagawa (Hilo, HI, Waiakea High School) wore the libero jersey and netted 21 digs.
Angelina Pulu (Long Beach, CA, Robert A. Millikan High School) followed with 16 digs. Pulu also produced 10 kills.
Natali Murdock (Phoenix, AZ, Pinnacle High School) was the Mustangs' main offensive threat, posting 12 kills while hitting .184 and posting three solo blocks.
For the sixth match in a row,
Alyssa Meihack (Fallon, NV, Churchill County High School) took charge in the setting position. She had 30 assists, averaging 10 assists per set.
The Mustangs held the Chadron State Eagles to just .036 in the hitting category. Only three players had a positive hitting percentage.
