WNMU slipped in the RMAC standings this weekend. The Mustangs were skunked by Fort Lewis College tonight (25-22, 25-17, 25-16) and blanked last night by Mesa State.
WNMU is now .500 on the season and 4-3 in the RMAC. Fort Lewis improves to 11-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
Senior
Natali Murdock (Phoenix, AZ, Pinnacle High School) was the lone Mustang to produce double digit kills. She led the match with 14 hammers, but she hit only .195, below her season average of .227 but slightly higher than the team's performance on the night (.143).
Setter
Alyssa Meihack (Fallon, NV, Churchill County High School) led the team in both assists (25) and digs (17).
The Mustangs average nearly two blocks per set this year but were able to only get three blocks total in the loss. Blocking was not the only problems WNMU had though. Service reception was also a problem. The purple and gold had nine service reception errors. The passing woes were one reason why the Mustangs never saw the lead in either the second or third set.
