Senior Audra Major
The Mustangs were down by as many as 10 in the first half against Metro State Saturday evening and then cut the lead to just two at the beginning of the second stanza. It wasn't a big enough push for WNMU as Metro State stretched the lead to 15 by the final buzzer. The Roadrunners defeated WNMU, 64-48.

WNMU drops to 2-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play; whereas, the Roadrunners improve to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in the RMAC.

Audra Major (Socorro, NM, Socorro High School, Midland Community College) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with an 11-point, 13-rebound performance. Shatwa Morris (Las Cruces, NM, Mayfield High School) had 12 points, three assists, and three steals in the contest but committed eight turnovers in the loss.

Metro State just edged past the Mustangs in shooting (32.8 to 31.0), but WNMU struggled from the three point line. Lonnie Sanchez (Scottsdale, AZ, St. Mary's High School, Central Arizona College) and Sarah Wenze (Albuquerque, NM, Sandia High School) were the only two players to hit a three in the contest. WNMU took 13 shots from the arc overall.

The Mustangs usually get outmatched in the paint but not tonight. WNMU produced 28 points in the paint. The Roadrunners notched 20.
