A perfect 5-0 Angelo State University held off the Mustangs in a five-set match Friday night at the Abilene Christian University Volleyball Classic.

Despite limiting Angelo State to only .075 hitting percentage in the first set, the Belles still battled past the Mustangs, 25-20, in the opening stanza. WNMU evened the match with a 25-22 win in the second set thanks to the WNMU strong, all-around game. ASU's offense was limited to .059 in set number two while the Mustangs hit .379 in the set, tallying 13 kills to just two errors, to knot the match.

Angelo State jumped ahead again in set three in convincing fashion, 25-18. ASU came close to ending the match in four games, but the Mustangs battled and earned the extra-point set four victory, 26-24.
ASU controlled the net in the final set, hitting .333 in the stanza. The Belles held the Mustangs to just three kills in the deciding set, 15-9.
