The Mustangs came out on fire Friday night versus Fort Lewis College. They easily took the first set, 25-16. Things cooled quickly in sets two and three as the Skyhawks took the 2-1 lead, but a huge momentum shift in set four and five allowed the Mustangs to get their seventh win of the season. WNMU move one step closer to the .500 mark and are 4-1 in conference play. The Skyhawks drop to 2-11 overall and 0-7 in the RMAC. 

It was a hitting frenzy for both teams as they combined for 325 hitting attempts. WNMU outside hitters Natali Murdock (Phoenix, AZ, Pinnacle High School) and Heather Rux (Cottonwood, AZ, Mingus Union High School) were the big smashers of the night. Murdock finished with 25 kills, and Rux posted 17.

Ziona Verhulsdonk (Kailua, HI, Hawaii Preparatory Academy) and Ellen East (Pomerene, AZ, Benson High School) each posted double-doubles in the victory. Verhulsdonk dished out 13 assists and notched 14 kills. East had 49 assists and 12 digs. Sophomore Marilee Frost (Long Beach, CA, Robert A. Millikan High School) led the team defensively with 14 digs.
