The Mustangs changed the lineup Tuesday night versus Mesa State College and saw their usual libero Marilee Frost (Long Beach, CA, Robert A. Millikan High School) light it up as an outside hitter. The switch kept the Mavericks on their toes, which resulted in two close sets, but Mesa still came up with the win, 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-16).

Frost finished with 17 kills and only three errors on 33 attempts. The rest of the team posted only mediocre kill numbers. The remaining 11 Mustang players combined for 23 kills.

Instead of Frost wearing the libero jersey, Schalicia Degase (Truth or Consequences, NM, Hot Springs High School) took over. She posted 11 digs to tie with teammate Ziona Verhulsdonk (Kailua, HI, Hawaii Preparatory Academy) in the defensive stop category.

Keeping the setting duties, Ellen East (Pomerene, AZ, Benson High School, Yavapai Community College) recorded 31 assists.
