Mustangs Travel To Texas Woman's University

The Western New Mexico University basketball team will wrap up the first week of their 2009-2010 regular season at the 2009 DFW Marriott Champions Circle Pioneer Premiere hosted by Texas Woman's University (TWU) this weekend at Kitty Magee Arena in Denton, Texas.

Tarleton State and Pitt State, along with Western New Mexico, will travel to Denton to join TWU for this two-day, four-team, four-game tournament scheduled for Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21.

Tournament play will begin on Friday with Tarleton State and Pitt State playing a 5:00 p.m. game and TWU meeting Western New Mexico in a 7:00 p.m. contest. On Saturday, Tarleton State will face Western New Mexico at 2:00 p.m. before TWU squares off against Pitt State at 4:00 p.m.

TWU head basketball coach Beth Jillson is looking forward to this weekend's event.

“The field for this tournament is outstanding,” she said. “Tarleton State is a traditionally tough LSC South team, Pitt State won 20 ball games last year, and Western New Mexico is a strong opponent out of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Fans that come out for this event are going to see some exciting basketball.”

Single-day passes ($6 for adults/$5 for students and senior citizens) will be sold for both days of the tournament. Tournament passes ($10 for adults/$8 for students and senior citizens) will also be available for purchase.
