ThunderWolves Hold Mustangs To Field Goal

Senior Dennis Havrilla
The Mustangs have had very little difficulty scoring this year. Prior to Saturday's game at Colorado State University – Pueblo, they averaged 33.9 points per game, but the ThunderWolves put a stop on WNMU's offense. Pueblo posted a school record 620 yards of total offense and ran away with the easy win, 48-3.

Pueblo tailback Jesse Lewis scored the first two touchdowns of the day both in the first quarter. He finished the day with a career-high 233 yards and three touchdowns in leading the ThunderWolves' rushing attack.

Pueblo tacked on another touchdown at the end of the second quarter to go into the locker room with a 21-0 advantage at the half.

The Mustangs finally got on the board when kicker Colin Lund (Mililani, HI, Mililani High School, New Mexico State University) put the ball through the uprights for a 31-yard field goal at the 13:46 mark of the third quarter. That was the only score WNMU could produce however. The ThunderWolves put up 27 unanswered points to close out the game.

WNMU was limited to only 60 rushing yards and 184 passing yards. Senior Dennis Havrilla (North Concord, CA, Mt. Diablo High School, University of Nebraska - Kearney) threw for 145 of those passing yards.
