It was another close one for the WNMU Mustangs. Last night it took five sets for the purple and gold to earn the victory. Tonight also took five sets, but WNMU came out on the losing end. Fort Lewis defeated the Mustangs, 3-2 (25-20, 22-25, 30-28, 23-25, 15-12).
The Mustangs are now 10-13 overall and 8-7 in the RMAC. Fort Lewis improves to 7-15 on the season and 5-11 in conference play.
Junior
Natali Murdock (Phoenix, AZ, Pinnacle High School) led the Mustangs offensively. She finished the night with 22 kills on 70 attempts for a hitting percentage of .171. Murdock also had 15 digs, second on the team. Libero
Marilee Frost (Long Beach, CA, Robert A. Millikan High School) led the Mustangs in that category though. She had 22 digs.
Heather Rux (Cottonwood, AZ, Mingus Union High School), like Murdock, also had a double-digit kill night. She had 14 kills.
Setter
Ellen East (Pomerene, AZ, Benson High School, Yavapai Community College) recorded 45 assists and 12 digs. She also was a threat at the net with five block assists.
