Mustangs Rattle Cougars

The WNMU volleyball team rattled the Colorado Christian University Cougars on Thursday night. CCU committed 19 service errors to go with eight reception errors and 28 attack errors. The Mustangs came out on top, 3-1 (25-21, 25-10, 21-25, 25-12) and have won six of their last seven games. The Cougars drop to 3-12 on the season and 0-7 in conference play. WNMU is 8-7 overall and 6-1 in the RMAC.

The Mustangs enjoyed a balanced offensive effort, as six players logged six or more kills in the victory. Leading the way was freshman Jordan Johnston (Boise, ID, Centennial High School) who added a team-high eight kills and four total blocks. Fellow freshman Jovan Falemalu (Laie, HI, Kahuku High School) found her rhythm and posted six kills on only eight attempts for a superb .750 hitting percentage. 

Overall, the Mustang squad posted seven blocks and hit a sizzling .318 on the contest.

CCU's Brooke Wittmayer put together a strong showing, recording 12 kills, while tacking on six digs and a block assist.
