Transfer student Paul Gonzalez (West Covina, CA/West Covina High School) (West Covina, CA) came across the Kachina Classic finish with the best WNMU place yet. Gonzalez crossed the line 23:48.7, good for fourth. Overall, the Mustangs had a team score of 66, just 15 points behind first place.

Freshman Ryan Nez (Navajo, NM/Navajo Pine High School) (Navajo, NM) was in second for the Mustangs with a time of 24:13.0. Overall, four of the five Mustang runners came in the top 20.

El Paso Community College walked away with the victory with the University of New Mexico coming in second.
