The Western New Mexico women's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 win over Sul Ross State Saturday in the WNMU Tennis Invite. Strong play in singles fueled the win, and the Lady Stangs gained momentum for the rest of the season, as they ran their record to 2-0.
After making history with a win against ENMU, the consistent play on the court is really pushing up the level for this team.
"They continue to surprise me, and I am still very optimistic for the rest of the season," an enthused Coach Erik Burton said.
The Lady Stangs finish up the WNMU Invite with a match to be played against Grand Canyon, Sunday at 9 am.
