DJ Nicholas (Glendale, AZ) earned his second RMAC West Division Player of the Week award in a row. Nicholas averaged 33.5 minutes, 22 points, nine rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game as Western New Mexico lost at Texas-Permian (93-88) and defeated Eastern N.M. (87-69). He led the team in both points, rebounds, and blocked shots in both games. Against UTPB, he tallied 22 points, four blocks, nine rebounds, and two assists. Against ENMU, he notched 22 points, three blocks and nine rebounds. He shot .643 in both games (18-28). In three games, he already has 13 blocks, which is well on his way to beating last year’s mark of 33 blocks.
