Ayers has found his groove just a few weeks into the season as he got loose for another 100-plus yard receiving game, going for 165 yards on 13 catches and two scores against nationally-ranked Midwestern State. He had a long reception of 55 yards that went for a touchdown on a flea flicker play. In setting up his second touchdown of the game, he caught six passes on the drive for a total of 71 yards, with the last five finding the end zone. Ayers continues to create separation between the next closest receivers to him in the Lone Star Conference as he leads the league with 556 yards on 35 catches and has seven scores.
