Fuentes came through with an impressive straight set win over Division I New Mexico State as he won at the top flight, 7-6, 7-6. He finished the week posting a pair of victories against Mesa Community College. In doubles with teammate Alvaro Nunez they claimed a dominating 8-2 win at No. 2. In singles, he won the first set, 6-4, and after dropping the second, 2-6, he came back from a 2-5 deficit to win the next five games and claim the 7-5 third set win at No. 1.
