Newsome had a solid three games over the past week for the Lady Mustangs leading them to a 2-1 record. She led the team with 17 assists and 10 steals, while averaging the second-most points for the week at 14.3 per contest. She shot well from the field connecting on 60 percent (15-25) and made 75 percent from three-point range (6-8). She had a high of 17 points against Angelo State and followed that with 16 against Colorado Mines.
