Freshman middle Shannon Rich was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Rich posted nine total blocks to lead the Lady Mustangs. She opened the week with five block assists in a 3-1 win over Colorado Mesa and then added four total blocks, one solo, in a sweep of Fort Lew­is. She also added 12 kills and four digs.


Rich has the highest hitting percentage on the team at .333, posting 189 kills to 53 errors in 409 chances. She is second on the team in blocks with 78 and leads the team in solo blocks with 17.
