Senior outside Angelina Pulu (Long Beach, CA/Robert A. Millikan High School) was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week that was announced by the conference office Monday.
Pulu led the Lady Mustangs in sevÂeral categories over the weekend inÂcluding kills, digs and solo blocks. In helping WNMU to a 4-0 record at the I.C. Bhakta Invite, she pounded out 57 kills, recording double-digits in three of the matches. She had a high of 18 in a five-set win over Eastern New Mexico and a 17 kill effort in another five-set win over Colorado Christian. She did it on the defensive end as well, coming away with 80 digs. She led the team in solo blocks and added seven block assists with a high of four against McMurry.
Pulu is second on the team in kills so far this season with 83, while she leads the team in service aces (8), digs (135) and solo blocks with seven.
