COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference is recognizing Doris Berberic of Western New Mexico University as the inaugural Summit Award winner for Women's Tennis.
 
The RMAC Summit Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals sites for each of the RMAC's Championships.
 
All GPAs are based on a straight grading scale to ensure consistency among institutions. Any tie is broken by the number of credits completed.
 
Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above who have participated in their sport for at least two years with their school. They must be an active member of the team, traveling and competing at the championship.
 
Berberic is a senior double-majoring in Psychology who also holds a perfect grade-point average of 4.0. She has a 3-5 record playing No. 5 singles this season. Berberic and her doubles partner Diamond Morrill were named to the second team All-RMAC with eight victories. She is a graduate of Hutt Valley High School in Lower Hutt, New Zealand.
 
Berberic will be recognized prior to her match at the 2013 RMAC Tennis Championships on Saturday, Apr. 20 in Grand Junction, Colo. at the Elliott Tennis Center on the campus of Colorado Mesa University.
