Freshman Ziona Verhulsdonk led the team in hitting percentage (.474), blocks (seven) and service aces (four) last week against New Mexico Highlands and Mesa State. The Mustangs swept the Cowgirls in three on Tuesday but then lost a five-set battle to Mesa on Saturday. So far this season, Verhulsdonk is hitting .224 and averaging 2.08 kills per set and .50 blocks per set. The Hawaii native has also totaled 88.5 points overall and 2.46 points per set.
