With the bases loaded in the third inning, Nebraska - Kearney was forced to change pitchers in game two on Sunday. WNMU’s Kaitlynn Barnes took full advantage of the situation and swung at the first pitch. The ball sailed over the outfield fence for a grand slam. The Mustangs won the game 16-5. Overall, WNMU won three out of the four games this weekend. Barnes led the team in batting average (.727), homeruns (4), RBIs (11), and slugging percentage (1.909). She also was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen bases. Of her 63 at-bats so far this season, Barnes has only posted three strikeouts and leads the team in homeruns with seven.
