Guillaume Dupont

Coach Dupont enters his second season as head tennis coach at WNMU.

In his first, he was named RMAC Men’s Coach of the Year after guiding the team to both the regular and tournament championships. The men advanced past regionals and made it to the NCAA Tournament in Louisville. They finished with a #32 overall NCAA/ITA ranking and his team held a 3.2 GPA. Top player Rodrigo Almeida was named the RMAC Player and Scholar Athlete of the Year. Two additional players were named to the All-RMAC Teams. On the women’s side, they witnessed unprecedented success, climbing from four wins the season before to 10 and a first for the program in claiming the RMAC Tournament. Top player Ganna Tiurina was named RMAC Freshman of the Year, while three players were named to both the All-RMAC Tennis Teams and Academic Teams. The team held a 3.6 cumulative GPA.

Coach Dupont spent the past four years as a volunteer assistant on the Lobo Women's Tennis Team, as well as being the Head Pro at the club.

A native of France, he holds a Masters Degree in Sports Psychology specializing in Mental Coaching and Physical Training. He did a year internship in the "Laboratory of Cardio-Vascular Adaptations to Exercise" in Avignon, France, where he studied the cardio-vascular adaptations from training in hypoxy hypobaric (high altitude).

He played for one year at the college level and was a ranked junior player in the South of France.

Guillaume brings 8 years experience teaching and coaching tennis at the junior level. Currently, two of his junior players in France are ranked in the top ten of their age group and he organized many summer tennis camps for junior players at his hometown tennis club. He is looking forward to bringing his skills and love of the game.

Guillaume is married to Dominique Anna Dupont.
