Former Mustang great Eric Chavez returns as the Golf Team's assistant coach this season for for his third campaign at cracking the whip. A 2010 graduate of WNMU, Coach Chavez played in two NCAA Championships for the Mustangs as well as being on two RMAC and Regional winning teams.
One of WNMU's all-time great players, Chavez played in 37 tournaments, nabbing 11 top-10 finishes and a low round of 66 (-6) twice. He averaged 75.39 over his career.
Currently, Coach Chavez is the Head Professional at WNMU's University Course at Scott Park where he is one of the top tournament professionals in the Sun Country section.
Terrified of commitment, he and his future wife Heather Rux (a former WNMU volleyball player), have one child, Sadie -- a pitbull terrier mix who's development has been hampered by positive reinforcement training.
