Anthony Arceneaux enters his first season as the wide receivers coach at Western New Mexico University in 2014. Arceneaux comes from Southern Utah University where he was an assistant working with the wide receivers and an academic assistant during the winter and spring of 2014.
A graduate of Saint Louis High School in Honolulu, HI, Arceneaux earned three state championships as a wide receiver for the Crusaders. Arceneaux played his collegiate football at the University of Utah as a wide receiver from 1999-2002.
Arceneaux began his professional career in 2003 with the Hawaii Islanders where he was a wide receiver, defensive back and kick returner. In 2004 He earned first and second team All-AF2 awards as kick returner and wide receiver, while tying the AF2 record for kick return touchdowns in a game (4). In 2005 Arceneaux continued his playing career with the Central Valley Coyotes as a wide receiver and defensive back. In 2006, Arceneaux was the week 7 ADT Defensive player of the week while playing for the Las Vegas Gladiators of the AFL, as a wide receiver, defensive back and kick returner. In 2007 Arceneaux played with Hamilton Tigercats of the CFL as a wide receiver and punt returner.
Following his professional career, Arceneaux began his coaching career at Saint Louis High School, in Honolulu, HI as the wide receivers and strength and conditioning coach in 2010. That same year he also became the head track and field coach leading his team to a 4x100 gold medal and a 2nd runner up overall finish in the HHSAA State Track Meet. During his time at Saint Louis, Arceneaux helped the Crusader football team to a 2010 state championship and has coached four (4) 1st team all-state wide receivers.
Arceneaux, a native of Honolulu, Hawaii, earned his bachelor’s degree in historical and political science from Chaminade University. Wife Nichole Arceneaux, son Anthony Arceneaux Jr.
