SILVER CITY, N.M. — Western New Mexico Men's Basketball is set for an exciting season on the hardwood, unveiling its 2025–26 schedule featuring two non-conference tournaments and 20 Lone Star Conference battles.
The Mustangs open the year with an exhibition matchup at Division I UTEP on November 7 before officially tipping off the season at the Conference Crossover, hosted by Eastern NEw Mexico in Portales, N.M. WNMU will face New Mexico Highlands on November 14 and Fort Lewis on November 15.
The following week, the Mustangs travel to Durango, Colo. for the Skyhawks Hardwood Classic, hosted by Fort Lewis College, where they'll play Fort Lewis on November 21 and Colorado Mesa on November 22.
After a series of early road games, including a trip to Nampa, ID, to play GNAC powerhouse Northwest Nazarene. The Mustangs home opener will be against UT Dallas on December 20. Conference play then heats up in January with matchups against West Texas A&M (Jan. 2), Eastern New Mexico (Jan. 4). The Mustangs will have a home heavy January playing an additional five LSC foes throughout the month.
The Mustangs will close out the regular season with a challenging February, with 6 out of the 8 games being on the road. Senior weekend will be February 19th against St. Edwards and Senior Day on February 21st against St. Mary's. The Mustangs will face Lubbock Christian on February 26 and Midwestern State on February 28.
