SILVER CITY, N.M. - Western New Mexico University's Women's Volleyball Head Coach Geno Frugoli has announced the team's nine newest signees.
"This class will have a significant impact on our program and the future of WNMU Volleyball, " said Frugoli. "We have several student-athletes used to performing at a high level with successful programs. I think the community and our fans will enjoy the passion these ladies will bring to the floor."
Jessica Sales (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) - 5'10 MH/RS – Junior from Seward County Community College.
Sales would attend Seward CC from 2021-23, where she would total 283 kills, 79 aces, 333 digs and 59 blocks. Sales was a part of the 2022 Jayhawk West Champion team and the Region VI Tournament Champions.
"Jessica is a stable and intelligent player with a great serve. She was maybe the most consistent player on a championship team last season and easy to play with," said Frugoli.
Logan Dodge (Liberal, Kansas) – 5'6 S/DS – Junior from Seward County Community College.
Dodge was a member of Seward CC from 2021-23, where she managed eight kills, 39 assists, and 372 digs. Dodge is a part of the 2022 Jayhawk West Champion team and the Region VI Tournament Champions.
"Out of all my years coaching, Logan is one of the hardest working and high character players I've ever seen. She has natural leadership abilities to match her solid play, as well as a great serve," said Frugoli.
Aubreigh Haxton (Argonia, Kansas) - 6'2 RS - Junior from Seward County Community College.
Haxton played her 2022-23 season for Seward CC. Haxton totaled 202 kills, nine assists, 33 digs and 56 blocks. Haxton played for the 2022 Jayhawk West Champion team and the Region VI Tournament Champions.
"Aubreigh will be a strong force at the net for us this season. She is no stranger to big moments and will stop at nothing to be successful, said Frugoli."
"Haxton, Dodge and Sales come from a championship team last year and should set the tone for our team culture," said Frugoli.

Maria Osorio () (Pereira, Ris, Colombia) - 5'11OH/RS - Freshman
Osorio competed this spring season with the Mustangs.Â
"Maria comes from Colombia as a young player with a huge upside, " said Frugoli. "Her personality and competitive nature feeds into the culture we are building here."

Mady Mavady (Las Vegas, Nevada) - 5'9 DS/S - Sophomore from Purdue University Northwest.
Mavady joined the Mustangs this spring season. She comes from Purdue University Northwest, where she totaled 17 kills, six digs and three blocks in her lone season for the Pride.
"Mady is a hardworking and inspirational setter from Las Vegas," said Frugoli. She transferred from Purdue Northwest University with some incredible volleyball IQ. I've known her for many years and there is no doubt she will bring 110% everyday."

Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France) - 5'6 L/DS - Junior from Navarro College.
Bechec played for Navarro College from 2021-23 where she managed 199 kills, 78 assists and 603 digs. She received second-team All-Region XIV Honors for the 2022-23 season and helped lead the Bulldogs to the Region Tournament XIV semifinals.Â
"It took us looking all the way to France to find a great defender, and we are so happy Lilouann chose WNMU," said Frugoli. She could be a difference maker in the back row after having some great seasons at prestigious Navarro Junior College."

Leticia Correa (Bauru, SP, Brazil) - 5'9 S - Junior from Daytona State College
Correa comes from spending two seasons (2021-23) at Dayton State College, where she recorded eight kills, 141 assists, 67 digs and two blocks.Â
"It is time for change at the setter position for the Mustangs," said Frugoli. "Leticia is a confident setter with excellent Brazilian training and she could be that change. She is quick and smart with great setting and defensive skills."

Sara Castrillon (Pereira, Ris, Colombia) - 6'2 MB - Freshman
Castrillon is an incoming freshman from Colombia.
"Sara is a huge presence at the net," said Frugoli." "Her strong arm should provide much needed offense for our team. She played at a high level in Colombia, and should contribute immediately."

Chase Kallevig (Louisburg, Kansas) - 5'7 L/DS - Sophomore from Avila University
Kallevig played her 2022-23 season for Avila University. While at Avila, Kallevig totaled one kill, 28 assists and 227 digs.
"Chase played at a NAIA school last year where the game seemed easy for her," said Frugoli." "She's up for the challenge of playing to a higher level, and our coaches are eager to see it."
