Espinoza to Join Women’s Basketball from Eastlake High in El Paso

SILVER CITY, N.M. – Jessika Espinoza, originally from Eastlake High School in El Paso, becomes the fourth player from El Paso to sign with the Western New Mexico University women's basketball team during this year's recruiting class.

Jessika is an all-around player who we are excited to have as part of the Mustang family. Jessika has a toughness about her that is going to translate well to the college style of play," Head Coach Lauren Unger said. "She also has a great relationship with Aylin, and Destiney who also signed with us, and I look for these three to add a dynamic threat to our lineup. I plan on Jessika having a remarkable four years here as a Mustang."

Espinoza, a 5-foot-10 guard, averaged 11.9 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per contest as a senior. She was nominated as El Paso's #1 freshman in the top-100 list. Other top honors include Honorable Mention (freshman year), First-Team All-City (sophomore year), Honorable Mention (junior year) and First-Team All-City (senior year). Espinoza also participated in the El Paso All-Star Game, a National Honors Society student and Leader of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
