At 16-3, visiting CSU-Pueblo simply had too much firepower for Western New Mexico's women's basketball team Saturday night in Silver City as the powerful visitors took a 78-47 win. WNMU remains winless (0-18, 0-15 RMAC) while the TWolves remain third in the league standings behind Fort Lewis and Metro State.
The Thunderwolves held a 42-24 advantage at the half and were never seriously challenged in the contest.
Pueblo shot 42 percent from the floor, including going an impressive 13-of-32 from beyond the arc.
In addition to their hot hand from outside, the visitors out-rebounded Western 47-23 and forced 23 Mustang turnovers.
Western got 13 points from
Heather Hamilton (Ely, NV/White Pine High School) and 12 from
Kassie Scott (El Paso, TX/Coronado High School).
