The visiting Lincoln University Lady Blue Tigers (1-22, 1-9) captured their first win of the season as they defeated Western New Mexico University (4-20, 2-9) 76-64 in the Mustang Fieldhouse.
It was a battle as there were seven ties, and four lead changes. Western saw a 13-point second half lead slip away, as they were forced to foul in the final minute in hope of a win.
Tannesia Manley paced the Lady 'Stangs with a game high, 19 points. Sarah Bennetts added 14, and 2 assists.
Lincoln's Sylvia Guldalian notched 17 points, followed closely by Tiffanie Wolfe who contributed 15 to the winning effort. Keyaira Stepps had 13, and Nadine Nomendoue finished with 10.
Western will be back in action to face Heartland Conference challenger, Montana State-Billings on Friday, February 24, 2006 at 5:30 P.M.
