Western New Mexico's men's golf team is well represented on the 2010 Ping All-Central Region team announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Seniors
Eric Chavez (Las Cruces, NM/Mayfield High School) and
Scott Crichton (Dalgety Bay, Scotland/Inverkeithing High School) were on the squad as was sophomore
Gordon Webb (Malta, MT/Malta High School). Crichton and Webb were All-Region selections last year as well.

Kent Beatty was named the Central Region's Coach of the Year.
Crichton wrapped up a stellar career for WNMU with a career 74.0 scoring average in 123 tournament rounds. He leads in virtually every scoring category while maintaining a 3.95 GPA in cell and molecular biology.
Chavez played three years for the Mustangs and is the only player to have played in two NCAA Championships for WNMU. In 104 tournament rounds the senior from Las Cruces averaged 75.4 with a low round of 66.
Webb, a sophomore from Malta, Montana ,turned in two impressive years for WNMU, averaging 74.3 in 61 rounds. Webb saved his best golf for last this spring, winning the RMAC Spring Championship and finishing tied for fifth in the NCAA Super Regional.
