Senior women's basketball student-athlete Ashley Vigil (Albuquerque, NM, Sandia High School) and sophomore men's basketball student-athlete Stefan Mirabal (Albuquerque, NM, Sandia High School) are November's WNMU Student-Athletes of the Month.

Vigil is one of only two players to have started each of the five games this season. The guard is averaging 34.8 minutes on the floor this season, more than 10 minutes more than the rest of her teammates. In those 34.8 minutes, Vigil has led the team in scoring with 10.0 points and 3.0 assists per game.

Vigil's best performance came against Bemidji State last weekend at the Grand Canyon University Crowne Plaza Thanksgiving Classic. She led all scorers with 21 points after shooting nearly perfect from the floor. Vigil nailed all five three-point attempts and missed only one regular field goal before fouling out of the game with 12 seconds left in the second half.

In the month of November, Vigil has recorded a .470 field goal percentage and .400 from the arc.

Mirabal led the men's basketball team in points with 26 in a 76-64 win in the second game of the season versus the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds on November 21. Mirabal also posted 11 points in the season opener loss to the Greyhounds on November 17. During the opening week of the season, he averaged 18.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in the two games.

In Hawaii, Mirabal led all scorers with 28 points and their first game against Hawaii-Hilo (L, 91-82) on November 25. He made almost half (seven) of the teams three-point field goals in the game (15). Two nights later in their second match up (L, 95-81), he was one of five starters to record double digits in scoring. Versus Hawaii Pacific (L, 97-77) this past Sunday, Mirabal had 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

Overall, the guard has averaged 18.8 points and 4.4 rebounds during the month of November. Mirabal also has shot .443 from the floor and .387 from three-point range. In the free throw category, he has missed only two of his 22 attempts, well above the team average.
