Known as a feisty and tenacious competitor, Bob Agnew, class of 1956, was a four-year starter on both offense and defense during his WNMU football career.
A two-time all-conference player, he played guard and tackle on offense, opening holes for fellow hall of famers, Ralph Craig, Moose White, and Joe Palmer. On defense, he played guard, tackle, and linebacker. Bob was a co-captain and was selected by his teammates as the most valuable player during his senior year.
After leaving Western New Mexico, Bob distinguished himself as a teacher and coach during a 32-year career in public education in Texas and New Mexico. He is retired and lives in Gila, New Mexico.
