Bill Bynum, a 1971 graduate, was a 4 year starter at Quarterback for the Mustangs. He helped lead the 1970 Mustangs to Rocky Mountain Division Championship being named WNMU Captain, MVP, and first Mustang drafted into NFL by Washington Redskins in 14th round of 1971 NFL draft.
Bill was also named MVP of Mustang Baseball Team in 1970 hitting .400 with 10 home runs. Bill's last professional football year was 1975 playing for Toronto Argonauts of Canadian Football League.
The influences of AD Ray Brancheau, Coach Joe Palmer, Coach Al Johnson, and Coach Bill Shanahan coupled with a lifetime of friendships he made at Western helped guide his success in life.
