The WNMU women's golf team and the men's tennis team have a lot in common. Both teams won the conference championship, going undefeated in all tournaments and matches, and both teams had all of their top players and regular starters receive recognition from the RMAC. On Friday, the conference released the men's tennis All-RMAC awards.
Emmanuel Mensah (Accra, Ghana, ITF Center Home, Mt. San Jacinto College) was named Player of the Year while
Rodrigo Almeida (Arapongas, Brazil, Nene Lourenco High School) earned Freshman of the Year. Head coach Erik Burton was named Coach of the Year.
In singles,
Yair Banuelos (Mexico City, Mexico, Universidal del Valle de Mexico, Riverside Community College),
Johan Weich (Landskrona, Sweden, Filbornaskolan High School, Hope International University), Mensah, and Almeida were named to the All-RMAC First Team.
Henning Thrien (Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Carl Friedrick Gaus Gymnasium, Hope International University), who was forced to sit out a few contests because of injury early in the conference schedule, was named to the Second Team.
Jean Benoit Belin (Nimes, France, Emmanuel d'Alzon High School, Staps University (France)) rounded out the Mustangs' top five players with a nod on the Third Team.
Pairs Mensah/Weich and Almeida/Belin earned honors on All-RMAC Men's Doubles First Team. The Banuelos and Thrien duo landed on the Second Team.
