Top Five Mustangs Get On All-Conference Team

After dominating the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition, it is no wonder why the Mustangs' top five golfers earned a place on the All-RMAC Teams. Faylyn Beyale (Fruitland, NM, Kirtland Central High School)Glynnis Price (Shiprock, NM, Shiprock High School, University of New Mexico), and Jessica Dailleboust (Albuquerque, NM, Hope High School, New Mexico State University) all earned the top three spots on the First Team. Beyale was also named the RMAC Golfer of the Year. Carissa Schwalm (Las Cruces, NM, Mayfield High School) and Haley Raymond (Socorro, NM, Socorro High School) took the second and third spots on the Second Team.

CSU-Pueblo's Michaela Breit was named the Freshman of the Year while the ThunderWolves head coach, Greg Dillon, was named the Coach of the Year.

The RMAC Women's Golf All-Conference Teams are comprised of the top 15 individuals based on the three (3) best scores of the four mandatory events. The golfer with the lowest stroke average using the three best scores of the four mandatory events is the Golfer of the Year, while the freshman with the lowest stroke average using the three best scores of the four mandatory is the Freshman of the Year. The Coach of the Year is voted on by each of the nine head coaches.

Beyale finished first in the first two RMAC events of the year after back-to-back 151s. She shot 154 in RMAC #3 to finish tied for third. In the RMAC Championship held earlier this week, Beyale placed fifth, carding 161. Overall, she finished the regular season with 36 birdies to lead the team. She also shot the team's lowest round. At the Grand Canyon University Fall Invitational, Beyale shot a 69 in the first round and then followed it up with a 75 to finished tied for fourth out of 91 players, the largest tournament of the year.

Price's best RMAC tournament was the RMAC #3 when she shot 152 to finish in second place. Her best overall tournament of the year came the week before at the Grand Canyon University Invitational when she finished 1-under par. Shooting a 70 and 73, Price was the top WNMU player of the tournament, earning a second (tied) place finish. In the first two conference events, she shot 156 in each of the events to finish sixth and third respectively. Price is second on the team in birdies with 33.

The RMAC Championship co-MVP, Dailleboust had two first place finishes (Mustang Intercollegiate and RMAC Championship) and two second place finishes (RMAC #1, RMAC #2). Her top three RMAC events combined for a score of 461. Dailleboust was consistent throughout the entire golf season. She had only two rounds above 84. The remaining 19 rounds ranged from 74 to 84. Fourteen of those rounds tallied 79 or under. She led the team in pars per round with 9.81 and fairways hit with .712.

Schwalm is the Mustangs' only four-year player on the team. She had two tournaments in the 150s with one being the RMAC #3. She finished tied for third at that event with rounds of 78 and 76. In the other event, the Grand Canyon Fall Invitational, Schwalm carded a 157 to tie for 39th.

Like Beyale, Dailleboust, and Schwalm, Raymond played every round this year. She finished conference play with a top-three score of 482. Her best score of the year came in the second RMAC event. She shot a pair of 77s to place sixth. Earlier this week at the championship, Raymond finished the first round tied for first with a 79. She finished in the top 10 when she ended the tournament with an 85.
