Barr Named To Second Team, Aicher And Barnes To Third

Senior Kristina Barr
A senior, a junior, and a sophomore were all selected to the Softball All-RMAC teams. Senior Kristina Barr (San Diego, CA, La Costa Canyon High School, Central Community College) made Second Team All-RMAC and Amy Aicher (Snohomish, WA, Snohomish High School, College of Southern Nevada) and Kaitlynn Barnes (Phoenix, AZ, Deer Valley High School) were placed on Third Team All-RMAC. These three student-athletes place in the top three for the Mustang softball team in the following categories: batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, hits, runs batted in, homeruns, and total bases.

Barr, who concluded the regular season hitting .409, is seventh in the RMAC in batting average and first at WNMU. With 63 hits, she placed first on the team and third in the RMAC. She hit 12 homeruns this season and had a slugging percentage of .734. Her on-base percentage was .474 and had 113 total bases. Barr was placed on Second Team All-RMAC as a shortstop.

Aicher, a junior transfer from College of Southern Nevada, hit .379 this season. She was placed on Third Team All-RMAC as a second baseman. Aicher leads the Mustangs in runs scored (52) and doubles (13). In those categories, she places fourth and fifth in the RMAC respectively. She recorded 58 hits, eight homeruns, and nine stolen bases her first year wearing purple and gold.

Barnes, who placed on Third Team All-RMAC as a utility player, leads the Mustangs in slugging percentage (.780), runs batted in (55), homeruns (17), and total bases (117). Barnes finished the regular season hitting .407 with 61 hits. Her 17 homeruns broke the single season homerun record at WNMU previously held by teammate Kristina Barr (San Diego, CA/La Costa Canyon High School) and current assistant coach Meredith Reischl. Barnes was 10 for 10 in stolen bases. She only had seven strikeouts in 150 at-bats.
