Metro To Host RMAC Softball Tournament

Metropolitan State College of Denver will host the 2010 RMAC Softball Tournament May 6-8. The Roadrunners lead the conference with a 29-2 record. As it stands right now, the Mustangs would make the tournament and snatch the third seed, but with two more conference weekends to go, there could be a lot of movement.

The top winning percentage teams in each division at the conclusion of the conference schedule automatically enter the tournament with the next six schools, regardless of division, earning spots.

The RMAC Championships Committee approved the bid by Metro State, naming them tournament host.  The RMAC has instituted a pilot program to determine the hosts of RMAC tournaments. In softball, volleyball and soccer, the highest seeded team with approximately three weeks remaining in the regular season and an approved bid is named host of the RMAC tournament.

The 2010 RMAC Softball Tournament will be played on the Auraria Field at Metro State and the Ranger Softball Field at Regis University. Tickets will be $5 for adults, $3 for students, children under five are free. Fans will also be able to watch some of the tournament via the B2 networks for $8 per game. More details will be available in the next few weeks.
