Doherty to Help Campos

New Assistant Cross Country Coach Erin Doherty
Former University of Arizona standout, Erin Doherty begins her first season as the assistant cross country coach.

Doherty, an All-American in the 1500 meter, ran cross country and track for the Wildcats from 1997 to 2002. She also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and was a team captain for the cross country program.

A member of the Nike farm team, Doherty recently was a fitness trainer at Indian Ridge Country Club in San Diego, California. She developed and monitored appropriate programs to ensure that clients reached their goals.

Doherty graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in communications and sociology. She will continue her education at WNMU.

“The sports of cross country and track and field have enhanced my life,” says Doherty. “It has taught me about the importance of goals and dedication to reach those goals while balancing academics and everyday life… I had coaches and teammates that have contributed to my success, and I would like to give back what I have learned through these sports to help others.”
