A unanimous First Team selection,
Scott Crichton (Dalgety Bay, Scotland, Inverkeithing High School) has been named this year's RMAC Men's Golf All-Academic Player of the Year, the RMAC announced today.
Zach Blair (Roswell, NM, Roswell High School) also found his way on to the First Team list after participating in seven of the team's 12 tournaments.
Crichton, a cell and molecular biology major, has a 3.93 grade point average after five semesters of coursework. Not only has Crichton excelled in the classroom, this year he posted eight separate tournament scores of +5 or better. His best tournament came at the beginning of the season at the first RMAC event. He finished -4 and placed second. He also recorded a season high 13 birdies.
Overall, Crichton averaged 74.09 strokes this season along with a total of 78 birdies and five eagles. He was also named to the RMAC All-Tournament Team and the All-RMAC First Team.
Blair finished his sophomore season with a scoring average of 75.78. His best round came at the dual between Grand Canyon University and WNMU this spring. He posted a one-round total of 71. His best tournament this year was on his home course at the Cactus Thaw. He finished +1 and tied for third with Crichton.
Blair is a business management major with a 3.35 GPA.
