Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach Position Open

Western New Mexico University (a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, NCAA II) invites applications for the women's volleyball assistant coaching position. Anticipated start date of January 11, 2010.

Job Description: Responsibilities include assisting the head coach with: recruiting; planning and running practice sessions; supervising weight training and conditioning; maintaining uniforms and equipment; enforcing team discipline and rules of conduct; evaluation of game film; fund-raising activities; assist in summer camp programs; and monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes; Supports the head coach in insuring compliance with all rules and regulations of the RMAC conference and the NCAA II. Perform such other duties as assigned by the head volleyball coach and/or the director of athletics.

Salary: Stipend, tuition for bachelor or master's degree pursuit available, free housing (in residence hall), and meal plan.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree desired. Ability to acquire CDL (commercial driver's license) and to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification test required. Demonstrate a commitment to a successful NCAA II women's volleyball program both academically and athletically, excellent professional/interpersonal communication skills. College or strong playing (outside attacking or middle attacking) playing background preferred. Knowledge of strength and conditioning programs desired.
